  several months ago i wrote a letter to two of my sons, still jw.

  the letter is 41 years belated.

  i am now 78 years old so this was a bucket list item.

  I used to dream of that happening but no more. Mass hypnotism, when allowed by the individual, is extremely powerful. I do have a bit of window of their thinking by way of my non-JW son Frank in talking to his brother Gxxx. No, neither son advanced his education beyond the basic. I have 3 grandchildren whom I've never met, but I've seen photos thanks to Frank.
  I'm so glad, Lois, you finally woke up, even at age 62. Perhaps you only have to look thru the rear-view mirror on all this.
  I am in relatively good health thanks to the good care we have in U.S. Dear wife had a massive stroke during brain aneyurism surgery some 6 years ago and now relies on me for care. And that's completely ok as she is an excellent patient with a good sense of humor. We have good times. Thanks for you good wishes.
  Giordano, it's good to find an old timer out there who has actually lived through the BS.
  QuestioningEverything, no there have been no changes that I know of. What's surprising to me is that neither of them, both in the mid to late 50s, have no position of responsibility (based on reading between the lines in my communication with son Frank) in their respective congregations. It doesn't look as if they were ever "whole-souled" like their dad. Stupid dad, me.

  I redacted two names that I missed the first time around and the above link took me to this corrected document. Whether it works for everybody, I can't say. I'm ignorant about different browsers and about how browser caches work.

  Thanks, all. Of course I hope that they've read it but I have heard no responses.

  I did a follow up of sorts but I don't want to divulge publicly what that was for reasons I'm sure you can understand.

  Thanks for your compliment Slidin and thanks for your tip about potential redaction. I'll double-check the ones that I've left in there it's been a while since I looked over the whole letter but in general if they have passed on I've left their names in otherwise I redacted especially if there are still in the org.

  I decided, moments ago, to share my 14 page letter to my two sons. That was last April, one of my bucket list items.

  I post the link to that thread here because that letter bears a striking resemblance to my original post re colporteur Benjamin's letter to his recently deceased grandparents. I think you'll see why.

  And, for that group FIVE times on the list -- perhaps with the internet, it will get less and less. Perhaps forums like this will slowly fade, and I have a feeling it wouldn't hurt Simon's feelings even a little bit.

  As for Atlantis, perhaps we could share a frothy one some day. Oh, I'm glad to see (other post) that you're getting more recognition, which you deserve.

  For those who don't know, Atlantis is one of this forum's treasures with his continuous stream of leaked publications and the generosity of his time.
